Oh Ji-young (36), a former member of Pepper Savings Bank who was recently suspended by the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) Reward and Punishment Committee for one year due to the controversy over bullying in the club. Oh Ji-young, who attended the second reward and punishment committee held on the 27th, spoke out to express her injustice against the media.

Oh Ji-young explained about the recent controversy in a phone call with the Segye Ilbo on Friday. Among A and B who claimed the damage before writing the article, A said in a recent interview with a media that he could reveal his name, so A decided to use Lee Min-seo's real name and B anonymously.

"Lee Min-seo, you became close to Pepper Savings Bank right after you came to Pepper Savings Bank"

To Oh Ji-young, Lee Min-seo was a "thankful" junior. Oh Ji-young was traded from GS Caltex to Pepper Savings Bank on Dec. 26, 2022, during the 2022-2023 season. Lee Min-seo, who was drafted by Pepper Savings Bank in the 2022-2023 season, was a rookie.

Oh Ji-young said, "After moving the team, I was the oldest. Maybe that's why young players couldn't approach me well. But Lee Min-seo is very active, so he approached me first. There is a 15-year age difference, but I was grateful for that and I got close quickly," and recalled right after their first meeting, "There was a part where Lee couldn't get along with his teammates, but as I mediated, I got along well with all my peers, and through that incident, I became close."

In an interview with a media outlet on the 28th, Lee Min-seo said, "There have been verbal abuse and bullying from Oh Ji-young since June last year. It was hard to bear. I decided to leave Pepper Savings Bank in September."

In response, Oh Ji-young said, "Since we became close, we have exchanged Kakao Talk messages or Instagram direct messages every day until the relationship has become somewhat estranged due to a car accident. As already known to the media, not only various gifts but also fines paid to the team were given to colleagues or juniors, saying, "Don't tell me what I gave you," instead. He said, "It is absurd that I have been bullied since June last year."

the full story of a traffic accident

Lee Min-seo's traffic accident was revealed through the media as the bullying incident was reported in the club. In a phone call with the Segye Ilbo, Oh Ji-young revealed the whole story of the traffic accident.

It was Lee Min-seo and B who claimed to have been bullied against Oh Ji-young. Before the car accident, B went out to play an away game, dyed his hair, and returned to his accommodation.

Oh Ji-young said, "I thought that even if you don't accompany me to an away game, you don't have to watch your personal activities while the team is doing away games. Shouldn't you be watching your team's games on TV and taking care of yourself at the dorm? Of course, you can go out for a cup of coffee during a break, but I don't think it's right to dye your hair that clearly shows that you're out. As some players talked about B's hair color, I told B as the oldest sister of the team because I didn't want to hear him whispering in the background. And I called B separately because it might hurt your pride in front of other players. I asked B, 'Among the players who are not accompanying you to the away game, you are the oldest sister, so when the team is doing away games, please take the juniors at your accommodation if possible. I hope he does something that doesn't go against the team's bylaws.' He explained, "It was not an order group to the extent that the expression 'Request' would be appropriate."

After the dyeing incident, Pepper Savings Bank ended up with a four-month trip to the away game. Lee Min-seo went out a day before the away game and had a car accident. Professional volleyball teams go to the place where the away game is held a day before the away game and train for court adaptation. The team had already left their Gwangju accommodation for the away game schedule.

Oh Ji-young said, "I heard that some of the remaining players went out again a day before the away game. And that was where Lee Min-seo was. Lee Min-seo had a car accident while going out with one of his teammates (not B). And after Lee Min-seo and his teammate went out, B and another teammate also decided to go out to Chongjang-ro, but I heard that Lee couldn't because of a car accident. I asked him to do that, but B didn't block the people who wanted to go out, and he was trying to go out himself."

Oh Ji-young was already aware of the incident to some extent. B called while Oh Ji-young was taking a walk with her teammates Park Jung-ah and Chae Sun-ah near the away game accommodation. Oh Ji-young knew it, but pretended not to know what she was doing and answered the phone, "Why did you call?" To this, B said, "Sister, I'm sorry. The kids left because I couldn't manage it," and Oh Ji-young asked B, "Didn't you ask me to take care of your juniors as much as possible? But does it make sense to go shopping while the players are away?"

Chae Sun-ah, who was listening to the call, also learned that B was already going out through a phone call with Lee Min-seo, and told Oh Ji-young, "I think B is lying. I talked to Lee Min-seo and she said that B was going out with another player."

Oh Ji-young, who returned to her accommodation after the away game, told B, "Did you want to go out again even though you asked me so much? Now when I went to an away game, I asked her to tell me if she went out again." In fact, there was an atmosphere among key players and veteran players that they should not touch as much as possible, fearing that the players who could not accompany them would hurt their pride. So I just said, 'If you go out when you go to an away game, tell your sister and go out,' and then Lee Min-seo and B said they would leave the team after the car accident," he explained.

Pepper Savings Bank usually gave them an outing or a night out the day after the game. It wasn't like players lacked time to go out or stay out. "The reason I felt ashamed of the players who stayed at the dorms during the away game was that they went out to buy clothes for the day after the game," Oh said. "It was disgraceful. Players who went to away games are training and practicing to win, but doesn't it make sense that the rest of the players were agonizing over what to wear when going out or staying out?"

Oh Ji-young's admonition to her juniors was justified, but former coach Cho Trinzie said, "I told her to take a rest, but it doesn't matter who you are. Why are you scolding them?" This is a glimpse of how careless and negligent former coach Cho Trinzie was in managing the team. 토토
