Coach Jorge Bilda

Jorge Bilda (Spain), who led Spain to the FIFA Women's World Cup title in August, has been named head coach of the Moroccan women's national team.

"Bilda will take charge of the Moroccan women's national team, with an official announcement expected this weekend," ESPN reported on Wednesday.

Bilda, who has been in charge of the Spanish women's national soccer team since 2015, led Spain to the top of the Women's World Cup in August, but stepped down in September.

Even before the tournament began, Bilda faced complaints from 15 of Spain's national team players about her training methods.

However, the Spanish soccer federation went to the World Cup with most of the players who rebelled against Bilda and won.

Controversy erupted when then-SPA president Luis Rubiales kissed Spanish player Henrique Hermoso during the World Cup victory ceremony, leading to Rubiales' resignation and the departure of Bilda, who is known to be close to Rubiales.

Bilda will make her debut in charge of Morocco later this month in a Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier against Namibia.

In the FIFA Women's Soccer Rankings, Spain is ranked second and Morocco 58th.

Morocco reached the round of 16 at this year's Women's World Cup, where they defeated South Korea 1-0 in the group stage. 스포츠토토링크
