Esmil Rogers , a foreign pitcher who played for Hanwha and Nexen, showed powerful pitching in the Dominican Winter League.

Rogers played for Toros del Este in the regular season of the Dominican Winter League, recording 3 wins, 3 losses, and an ERA of 3.31 in 10 games (49 innings), and is playing for Estrellas Orientales in the semifinal series.  


Rogers, who joined Hanwha as a replacement foreign pitcher in the second half of 2015, caused a sensation. At the time, Hanwha, led by coach Kim Seong-geun, was competing fiercely to advance to the postseason. 


Rogers made his KBO League debut against LG on August 6, 2015, and recorded a complete win with 3 hits, 7 strikeouts, and 1 run in 9 innings (116 pitches). Afterwards, he signed with Nexen in 2018 and returned to the KBO League, recording 5 wins, 4 losses, and an ERA of 3.80 in 13 games, before being released again due to injury.
