The Pacific Golf Rings Korea (PLK) golf team took a powerful first step with the launch ceremony.
Team PLK Golf Club (PLK) began its official activities at the Chosun Palace in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on Friday, with seven members including President Wang Wol, CEO Jang Ok-young, and General Manager Kang Chun-ja, as well as Kim Ji-hyun, Lee Seung-yeon, Hwang Ye-na, Kim Se-eun, Seo Jae-yeon, and Yoo Dae-gyeom in attendance. The departure ceremony was held.
Team PLK was founded in January and has been composed of eight members, and after recruiting two more members, it has become 10. Five members, including Kim Ji-hyun, Lee Seung-yeon, Hwang Ye-na, Kim Se-eun, and Hwang Yeon-ah, who are active on the KLPGA regular tour, and Kim Joo-yeon, Kim Soo-min, promising Seo Jae-hyun, Yoo Dae-gyeom, and Xu Xuan, who are active on the Dream Tour, joined as founding members.
Kim Ji-hyun, who debuted as a professional 15 years ago and has a total of five wins, is preparing for another emergency, starting with the Doosan E&C Weave Championship, which will open at Teddy Valley Golf & Resort in Jeju from the 4th.
PLK got off to a good start, too. It took part in an event club golf competition that ended last week and ranked fourth as a rookie team.
Kim Ji-hyun said, "I became close while competing with my juniors and the atmosphere is very good. As I trained hard in the U.S. last winter, I will try to win the title from the first competition."
Lee Seung-yeon, who won her first KLPGA Tour victory, said, "I was satisfied with the fourth place in the club competition, but I played a great game with my teammates," adding, "I will shake off the disappointment of not winning during the season."
Jang Ok-young promised to support the players' active activities. He said, "This season is a special feeling for Team PLK to take their first steps." He added, "We expect the players to show their best skills on the best stage of the KLPGA tour, and Pacific Lynx Korea will actively support them to become the best players, and Team PLK will "do its best to make the team become a prestigious club." He added, "Pacific Lynx Korea will spare no support throughout the golf industry to solidify the value of the global premium golf brand."
Following the founding of the golf club, Pacific Lynx Korea, along with the Choi Kyung-ju Foundation, sponsored the AJGA competition and participated in fostering junior golfers in Asia and Korea. It recently sponsored competitions in the U.S., helping to nurture promising talent.
