Ha Chang-rae holds off Seoul with another theater goal for the second time in June

The second-ranked Pohang Steelers and third-ranked FC Seoul were unable to come away with a win in their third meeting of the year.

The two teams played to a 2-2 draw after exchanging four second-half goals in the 25th round of the Hana OneQ K League 1 2023 at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Thursday. Pohang, which extended its unbeaten run in the league to four matches (two wins and two draws), remained in second place with 45 points. They are 11 points behind leader Ulsan Hyundai (56 points).

Meanwhile, Seoul, which went winless in three league games (2 draws, 1 loss), was unable to close the gap on Pohang and remained in third place (38 points).

The two teams chasing Ulsan at the top of the table shared a point each after drawing 1-1 in April and June, respectively. Seoul extended its unbeaten run in the league against Pohang to nine games (W4 D5 L5).

The goal came early in the second half as Seoul controlled the flow of play. In the eighth minute of the second half, Ki Sung-yong picked up the ball on the right side of the midfield and delivered a long ball to Kim Shin-jin in front of the goal, who headed home the opening goal.

Pohang tried to fight back in the 12th minute of the second half, dropping Zeca, Baek Baek-dong, and midfielder Han Chan-hee in favor of long striker Lee Ho-jae, flanker Kim In-sung, and midfielder Lee Ho-jae, and equalized in the 18th minute. Go Young-joon's low ball from the right flank was flicked back exquisitely by Kim Seung-dae with Baek Jong-beom facing him, and Oberdan finished for the equalizer.

Seoul regained the lead in the 22nd minute of the second half through Palocevic, but could not get over the final hurdle. Munich inquire about 'loan' to Man City...but the winner is Barcelona

Bayern Munich have made an enquiry about signing Joao Cancelo on loan.

Florian Plettenberg, a reporter for Germany's Sky Sports, tweeted on Monday (Jan. 1), "That's right. The Bavarians have approached Manchester City about signing Kancelu on loan."

Kancelu was once a key player for City. In his first year at the club, he was a rotation player behind Kyle Walker, but after switching positions under Pep Guardiola, he reached his second peak. His football intelligence and playmaking made him an integral part of City's tactics.

However, last season saw a sharp decline in his position. After the World Cup in Qatar, his playing time dwindled as he was pushed aside by the likes of Neymar and Rico Luis, and he was unhappy and asked for a transfer. Guardiola, concerned about the deteriorating atmosphere in the team, granted Kancelu's request, and he went on loan to Munich. After failing to establish himself under Julian Nagelsmann, Kancelu was given more than enough playing time under Thomas Tuchel.

He then returned to City. But there was no place for him at City. Guardiola never seriously considered how to use him. He joined them on the Asian tour, but that didn't guarantee him a permanent place.

This is why he has been linked with a move to Barcelona. Coach Xavi Hernandez was looking for reinforcements at right fullback and identified Cesc as the right man. Hangzhou Asian Games concludes after 16 days of intense competition...Korea finishes 3rd overall!

The Hangzhou Asian Games 2022, a celebration of Asia, has come to a close after 16 days of intense competition.

The closing ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games took place at 9 p.m. ET on Aug. 8 at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou, China.

The Games were originally scheduled to take place in 2022, but were pushed back a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Games were the first international games held after the pandemic and attracted more than 12,000 athletes from 45 countries. South Korea sent 1,140 athletes to the Games, its largest contingent ever, competing in 39 sports.

South Korea took home 42 gold medals. They finished third overall (42 gold, 59 silver, 89 bronze). China took first place overall (201 gold, 111 silver, 71 bronze).

For the first time, the Korean Athletic Federation's own Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors were awarded to Kim Woo-min and archer Lim Im-hyun (Korea Gymnastics). Chinese swimming stars Zhang Yuefei and Qin Haiyang were named 안전놀이터 MVPs of the Games by the Asian Olympic Council (OCA). Zhang Yufei showed off his skills to the fullest with six gold medals, while Qin Haiyang dominated the competition with five.

After lighting up Hangzhou, the flame will now head to Aichi and Nagoya, Japan, for the next edition of the Games. The next competition will be held in three years, in 2026.
