Manchester United's search for the next head coach is struggling.

Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi (47) drew the line, "I'm happy in Inter Milan," when asked about the possibility of taking the post of Manchester United.

"A new contract with Inter? It's not going to be a big deal. I'm happy with this club, the leadership, the players. We'll just focus on our games," he added.

Manchester United has displayed disappointing performance this season. With 27 matches played in the Premier League, the team has 14 wins, two draws, and 11 losses, ranking sixth with 44 points.

The team hardly showed up in the European match. Manchester United had one win, one draw and four losses in six matches in the Group A of the UEFA Champions League, humiliating its elimination.

Major reforms are inevitable this summer. "This is just the beginning of the journey to bring United back to the top position in the world," said co-owner Jim Ratcliffe, who took over his stake and management control. "The work to achieve the goal will accelerate further in the future."

There is also no guarantee of Erik ten Hag's future. Ten Hag's performance has not been clear despite the full support from the club since 2022.

Injaghi has emerged as the likely next head coach. Manchester United has reportedly offered to sign a three-year contract with a weekly salary of 150,000 pounds to recruit Injaghi.

Inzaghi is considered one of the next generation of great coaches. From 2016 to 2021, he proved his leadership by winning one Copa Italy and two Supercopa Italina titles in Lazio.

The era of success continued in Inter Milan. Inzaghi, who took the helm of Inter Milan in 2021, made the achievement of bringing his team to the Champions League final for the first time in 13 years last season.

He has displayed more seasoned leadership this season. Injagi's Inter Milan has 72 points after playing 27 matches in the league, beating second-ranked Juventus by 15 points to secure an early victory.

Manchester United are highly unlikely to take the helm. According to the report, Inzaghi said, "We will discuss the contract extension with the leadership after this season. The relationship with the club is really good. Negotiations will go smoothly."

Inzaghi is not alone in his thinking. Inter Milan boss Giuseppe Marotta said, "We really like Inzaghi. Obviously, he wants to continue to accompany him. Negotiations will begin in due course."

"Inzaghi's contract expires in 2025. However, inzaghi is happy here. We are also happy to be with him," he said, dismissing rumors that he will take the helm of Manchester United. 메이저 토토사이트
