Yoon Hyung-joon-Park Gun-woo back-to-back home runs crucial

NC ended a slow start to the second half with a three-game win streak over Hanwha.

On April 21, NC won a 9-3 road game against Hanwha in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at the Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon.

Starting pitcher Eric Peddy earned his 13th win of the season (2-0) with 6⅔ innings of four-hit ball, one walk, eight strikeouts and three runs, while Park Gun-woo, who returned to the first team, went 2-for-4 with a wedge home run and a fence-direct double. Son Ah-seob led the offense with a leadoff homer in the first inning and Yoon Hyung-jun had a three-hit blast, including a wedge home run in the fourth.

With its latest three-game winning streak, NC improved to 40 wins (38 L, 1 T) on the season and remained in fourth place.

After the game, NC head coach Kang Myung-ho said, "Son As-seob's leadoff solo home run in the first inning and consecutive batters' home runs by Yoon Hyung-joon and Park Gun-woo in the fifth inning were crucial to the victory. On the mound, Pedi's strong pitching and the rest of the pitching staff helped us win the game. We won the first game of the second half, and we will do our best to prepare for a good game tomorrow."

NC will look to make it four straight wins with right-hander Taylor Widener starting against Hanwha on April 22. For Hanwha, right-hander Felix Peña will start. 스포츠토토
