Brentford striker Ivan Toni, who left the ground for violating betting rules, warmed up his return with a hat-trick.

According to The Athletic in the UK, Tony scored a hat-trick as a member of the Brentford B team in a friendly match against the Southampton Under-23 team on the 6th (Korean time).

Tony's disciplinary action ends on the 17th. Accordingly, he will be able to participate in the Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on the 20th.

In May last year, the English Football Association fined Tony 50,000 pounds and banned him for eight months for violating betting regulations.

The FA said in a statement: "Tony bet 13 times on his team losing in seven different matches between August 2017 and March 2018." Of the 13, 11 were Newcastle United matches and the remaining 2 were Wigan Athletic matches. Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic are both teams that Tony played for. Tony left Northampton Town and joined Newcastle United in the 2015-16 season. He appeared in just two games for Newcastle United before being loaned out to Barnsley, then to Shrewsbury Town and Scunthorpe United before being loaned out to Wigan Athletic for the 2017–18 season.

The FA said: "Tony was not in the club's squad at the time and therefore did not play in the match he had bet on. Eleven of the 13 were in the Newcastle defeat when he was on loan to another club, and the other two were against Wigan and Aston Villa. “I was excluded from the call-up list for the game,” he explained.

He continued, “Even if Tony bet on the team losing, there is no evidence that he had a direct influence (on the win or loss) because he was not in the squad at the time or was not eligible to play.”

FA rules prohibit players from betting on matches or sharing information for betting purposes.

The FA shortened the disciplinary period from 11 months to 8 months, taking into account the fact that Tony was truly reflecting on his gambling addiction diagnosis.

Psychiatrist Dr. Philip Hopley interviewed Tony twice and concluded that he had a definite gambling addiction. 안전놀이터

Tony is one of Brentford's leading strikers. He achieved promotion along with third place in the 2020-21 Championship with 31 goals, and scored double-digit goals in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons with 12 goals in the 2021-22 season and 14 goals last season. Thanks to Tony's performance, Brentford took 13th place in the 2021-22 season, the first year of promotion, and succeeded in settling in the Premier League, overturning expectations that it would fight relegation last season.
