The Industry Group for Responsible Lobaging (IGRG) announced that the 2019 Responsible Gambling Week will take place from November 7-13, and that following the success of RG Week 2018, organisations and businesses across the UK will once again join forces to support the campaign.

IGRG has brought together all sectors of the gambling industry through its member trading associations, the British Bookmakers Association (ABB), the British Amusement Machine Association (BAACTA), the Bingo Association (BA), the American Casino Forum (NCF) and the Remote Gambling Association (RGA). It all has a common goal of raising awareness of safer gambling behavior and encouraging employees, customers and the general public to discuss what it means to gamble responsibly.

This week's headline theme is Let's Talk About Safer Gambling. By coming together with one voice, the industry can expand its reach and ensure a safer message of gambling is connected to the widest possible audience.

Encouraged by the success of Responsible Gambling Week in 2017 and the huge engagement achieved in 2018, covering more than 12,000 gamblers and online sites, IGRG has made an impression of around 20 million employees across the UK and on social media. Based on these outstanding results, IGRG is working to further develop its campaign in 2019.

While businesses push for liability gambling 365 days a year, liability gambling week creates an opportunity for businesses to initiate safer gambling conversations with friends and family as well as customers.

John Hagan, president of the Industrial Group for Responsible Gambling, said:

"Social responsibility is fundamental to the gambling industry approach, and we are all committed to encouraging safer gambling throughout the year. But what makes responsible gambling week so special is that the entire industry is united and engaged to highlight safer gambling for more people.

"Responsible Gambling Week 2018 has been widely supported across the industry, helping to set new benchmarks for the campaign. With continued support from operators, charities and information networks, we are confident that we can reach a much larger audience based on our success last year.

"RG Week 2019 will run from Nov. 7-13. As we announce these dates at the beginning of the year, we hope to increase planning time, encouraging and allowing further support. In 2019, we will explore ways to broaden RG Week's base of applicants and leverage free communications networks to improve RG Week's message theme based on consumer research and gather input from professional support groups."

Responsible Gambling Week will attend ICE Total Gaming at Excel, London, from February 5-7, 2019, where team members can discuss this year's campaign.
