The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.


But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have pressed up the price of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.


In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into . It's proving lucrative too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
